so there was this great gang of us, from south london, manchester and wolverhampton, went to socialise with a group in fishguard in wales.. amongst the conversations one of the single sisters stated, "i could never marry anybody who used to be in the world".. i guess a lifetime of knocking on doors had given her the impression there couldnt possibly be a convert in her midst, never mind later alone with her in her mgb.. so whats with this, did you think we had rat scabies or were possesed by demons or something?.

Honestly, I couldn't stand most converts. I found many to be critical and judgemental.

I've been slogging away for decades while they lived a life of total freedom. A week after they're baptized, "Ohhhh, you didn't study your Watchtower....hmph[upturned nose]"

The ones that were genuine and nice - I didn't care if they were "immoral" in their past life.....

Our CO compared it to a "putting our mouth on a toilet" during the "special" MS & Elders-only meeting during the week of his visit.The CO was commenting on we should view it as unclean, etc....

So, I bet this elder heard the same material during his CO week.

i remember not being allowed to go to sleep in the meetings when i was tired.

not being allowed to do lots of things at school other kids could do.

Boredom. Crushing Boredom. Forced to sit with my dad and his latest bible study. He would do the Sunday WT and it would take 2 hours of a Saturday afternoon. Then, of course, we did the whole thing with the congregation on Sunday.

Good (Sad, in retrospect) memory: How excited I was that I reached the head of the line for buying Circuit Assembly food tickets. Hoagie and a danish would be mine soon!

I have the 2003 WT CD Library. The Watchtower article was changed. However, the book quote referencing the "20th Century" is unchanged.

Curious if the book has changed on later CD libraries. Does anyone know?

Code Words for Fade Mode?

there has got to be some kind of code word system to find out if someone you know is in "fade mode"!

what do you do when you suspect a jw is on the way out?...you may notice that they don't talk about meetings or service on social media...they don't even list jw as their religion.
